Ugee Fresound Inspiration Review: Why This Drawing Tablet Brand’s First Earbuds Matter

You probably didn’t expect Ugee, the drawing tablet company, to jump into earbuds – but here we are.

Their FreSound Inspiration targets creators who spend hours editing videos, sketching digital art, or mixing audio tracks.

What caught my attention isn’t just another brand pivot, though. These earbuds promise studio-quality sound with an open-ear design that keeps you aware of your surroundings.

But there’s a catch or two that might change how you think about audio gear for creative work.

Key Takeaways

  • Ugee leverages its drawing tablet expertise to create earbuds specifically designed to meet the workflow needs of creative professionals.
  • The open-ear design maintains environmental awareness while providing high-quality audio for video editing and mixing tasks.
  • Impressive 40-hour battery life and dual-device connectivity support marathon creative sessions without interruption.
  • Custom-tuned Hi-Fi audio delivers a balanced frequency response across genres, without harsh peaks or muddy lows.
  • Strategic expansion from digital art tools to audio represents Ugee’s commitment to a comprehensive creator-focused ecosystem.

When I first heard that Ugee was jumping from drawing tablets into the audio game, I’ll admit I raised an eyebrow.

But here’s the thing – it actually makes perfect sense. You’ve probably spent hours wearing headphones while creating digital art, so you know what works and what doesn’t.

Ugee’s FreSound Inspiration earbuds represent their first venture into Ugee audio products, targeting the same creative community they’ve served for years.

The earbuds promise studio-quality sound with creator-focused features. It’s an interesting pivot that could reshape our thinking about creative tools.

What Makes Ugee FreSound Unique

I, for one, spend hours listening to songs, podcasts, or videos with headphones while working and drawing.

I was very curious about Ugee’s new earbuds and what they could offer.

They’ve spent years understanding what creators need during those long work sessions, and now they’re applying that knowledge to solve audio problems we didn’t even realize we had.

The design itself is also very different from most earbuds I’ve tried so far. I struggle to adapt to the general earbud designs. They feel weird, and I’m always afraid they’ll fall off (they usually do).

So the design of the FreSound earbuds looked quite interesting!

Unboxing The Ugee FreSound Earbuds

The box is very compact and has a beautiful design. There are not a lot of elements inside, just what you need:

  • The FreSound Open Earbuds
  • Portable Case (that serves as a charging station)
  • USB-C Cable
  • Quick Guide

As you can see, it’s all very straightforward and ready to use.

The FreSound Earbuds are available in three different colors: Black, White, and Gold.

The earbuds have no buttons, but you can perform several different actions using Touch Controls.

Design & Comfort

While many earbuds claim comfort but require constant adjustments, the Ugee Fresound Inspiration actually delivers on its promise.

The design & comfort here genuinely impresses me. At just 8.7g, these might be among the best open-ear earbuds 2025 has to offer for extended wear.

The full-wrap liquid silicone construction feels incredibly skin-friendly against your ears.

You’ll honestly forget you’re wearing them during long creative sessions. The lightweight design eliminates pressure points and the need for constant repositioning.

For creative professionals who need earbuds that won’t distract from their work, this combination of aesthetic appeal and practical comfort hits the mark perfectly.

Although I love the design, I think it’s essential to notice that its comfort will also depend on your ear’s shape and the accessories you might use.

For example, wearing glasses and ear piercings makes it a bit more difficult to adapt the earbuds’ positioning.

Ears that are on the smaller size might still feel some discomfort or struggle a bit more to adapt to the design.

So far, I feel that’s the issue with most earbuds. But Ugee’s FreSound earbuds are definitely on the right track!

Sound Quality

When it comes to audio performance, the Ugee Fresound Inspiration delivers the rich, balanced sound that creative work demands.

You’ll notice the custom-tuned HiFi immediately – it’s clear these creative earbuds weren’t just thrown together. The expert-tailored tuning really shows when you’re listening to reference tracks or monitoring your audio projects.

I’ve found the frequency response stays remarkably consistent across different genres and content types.

Whether you’re editing videos, reviewing audio mixes, or just taking a break with music, you won’t find harsh peaks or muddy lows disrupting your workflow. The balance feels genuinely crafted for creators.

With that said, I did notice a slight delay in some devices!

While listening to music, podcasts, or even on a phone call, it may be unnoticeable, but you’ll see it when watching or editing videos.

Ugee FreSound Features & Battery Life

Great sound means nothing if your earbuds die halfway through a project, and I’m happy to report the Fresound Inspiration won’t leave you hanging.

You’ll get solid performance throughout extended design sessions, which is crucial when you’re immersed in your workflow.

The battery life and charging system keep things simple with USB-C connectivity.

Although I’m not a fan of Touch Controls, they do feel good. The interface responds well, and compatibility spans across devices seamlessly.

There are a lot of different actions you can perform. On the one hand, it’s excellent, it means you can do a lot with your earbuds with a simple touch.

On the other hand, it’s too many actions and touches to remember if you’re not a very tech person and prefer your devices to be as simple as possible.

For creators who need reliable audio gear, these specs actually make sense!

Pros & Cons Of The Ugee FreSound

Now that you’ve seen what the Ugee FreSound can do, let’s break down the real talk about its strengths and weaknesses.

I’ve spent enough time with these headphones to provide an honest assessment of where they excel and where they fall short.

You’ll want to know both sides before deciding if they’re worth your hard-earned money!

PROS

The FreSound Inspiration offers several standout benefits that make it a worthwhile consideration for your audio setup:

  • Good Battery Life: keeps you creating without constant charging interruptions.
  • Innovative Design: the FreSound design allows for more comfort than other regular earbuds.
  • Comfortable to Use: both the materials and design make it quite comfortable to use. Although, as mentioned, it all depends on your ear shape as well!
  • IPX5 Water Resistance: means you won’t worry about sweat during intense creative marathons or even fear the rainy days!

CONS

While the FreSound Inspiration has plenty to offer, it’s not without its drawbacks that you should consider before purchasing:

These limitations aren’t dealbreakers, but they’re worth weighing against your specific needs and usage patterns!

  • Can Be Difficult to Use for Some Users: although its open design is great, if you wear glasses or piercings, you’ll notice some issues when using these earbuds comfortably. This is of course very specific, but worth knowing!
  • Too Many Touch Controls: makes it difficult to remember all of the actions that can be performed, and they can also be finicky, occasionally triggering when you don’t intend them to.

Conclusion

You’ll find the Ugee FreSound Inspiration earbuds deliver what they promise – solid audio quality designed for creators.

They’re comfortable enough for those marathon editing sessions, and the battery life won’t leave you hanging mid-project.

Sure, the open design means some sound leakage, but that’s the trade-off for staying aware of your surroundings.
